The agreement has been concluded following a tendering procedure. The consortium of Asseco Poland (leader) and Viatelecome company submitted the best price offer. The contract involves the construction of telecommunications infrastructure – LTE radio broadband network including a number of access nodes, sufficient to provide coverage for at least 90% of the inhabited area of Wołomin Municipality. This investment project is scheduled for completion in December 2014.The contract is part of the project called “Internet as an opportunity for the development of Wołomin Municipality” which is implemented under the “Innovative Economy Operational Programme 2007-2013”. Upon its completion, Wołomin will join the group of big Polish cities that can boast of having LTE broadband Internet networks.“By undertaking this project, we intended primarily to ensure equal opportunities for the poorest families. We are glad that Internet and computers will be provided to those families in which basic needs, such as clothing, food and books are a spending priority, yet parents are aware that participation in the digital society is very important for the future of their children.By investing in their development, in their future, we help the whole community. In my opinion, this is the best use of EU funds you can imagine,” said Ryszard Madziar, Mayor of Wołomin. The main objective of the project is to provide free Internet access for the residents of Wołomin Municipality who are at risk of digital exclusion due to either difficult financial situation of their households or disability. 200 families will be provided with computers and computer trainings, free of charge. This project will enhance the chances of its participants for greater participation in social and economic life, improve their material status, and ensure access to information and services distributed electronically. In addition, LTE broadband Internet will enable further computerization of the municipality and development of e-services offered to 50 thousand inhabitants of Wołomin Municipality.“High-tech companies most frequently implement projects where information technology is not easily noticeable, being covered with business objectives. The more willingly we get involved in the initiatives that bring tangible benefits for citizens.Asseco cooperates in the construction of broadband networks with multiple local governments. These include large urban centers, such as Radom, Elbląg or Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, but also smaller, rural and urban municipalities which understand that modern infrastructure is the key to development. We would very much appreciate if Asseco’s high competence in the field of telecommunications technology could serve important social matters as often as possible,” says Andrzej Dopierała, Vice President of Asseco Poland. Asseco Poland S.A. is the largest Polish IT company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. With a market capitalization exceeding PLN 3.5 billion (or USD 1 billion), it is included in the prestigious WIG30 index. Asseco Group runs global operations and is present in 41 countries where it employs more than 17,000 people. Asseco Group ranked 6th among the “TOP100 European Software Vendors” as published for 2012 by Truffle Capital.Asseco Poland is a leading provider of software and IT services in the market. The acquisition of a majority stake in New Technologies Integrator LLP is the next step of the Polish IT powerhouse development in rapidly growing Eastern markets.Asseco has finalized the acquisition of a 51 percent majority stake in New Technologies Integrator LLP, an information technology company based in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The transaction value amounted to the equivalent of USD 1 million. Subsequently, the acquired company has been renamed as Asseco Kazachstan LLP.
New Technologies Integrator LLP (NTI LLP) was founded in 2006. Its operations include three business lines: information security, information management, and the newly launched cloud computing services. The company focuses primarily on the public sector clients as well as on large telecommunications and energy enterprises.
“Kazakhstan has much potential for growth and we have been looking for an investment opportunity in this country for a long time. We are satisfied that we managed to find very good partners with whom Asseco can build a strong market position in Kazakhstan. I am convinced that by combining the local market knowledge with over 20 years of our experience in the IT industry and extensive product portfolio, we will be able to offer the best software solutions for the largest Kazakh companies and institutions,” said Adam Góral, President and CEO of Asseco Poland.
Kazakhstan is a rich country and one of the fastest growing economies in the region. It has reached the highest level of per-capita GDP among the CIS countries, except for the Russian Federation. The World Bank analysts assess the attractiveness of investing in Kazakhstan slightly higher than in Poland. Polish goods enjoy a high reputation in Kazakhstan, being associated not only with good price but, above all, with high quality. Many Polish producers are very successful in the Kazakh market and found clients for their goods and services. Asseco has gained its first experience in this market by implementing an information system for Polpharma Group’s subsidiary operating in Kazakhstan.
Asseco Group consistently pursues its development strategy aiming to build a global information technology company specialized in software development and provision of highly advanced IT services. The Group focuses on emerging markets that are characterized by high economic growth and increasing demand for IT technologies. After Russia and Georgia, Kazakhstan is the third country in the region where Asseco is developing its business operations.

On 8 May 2014, Asseco Poland has signed an agreement with the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund (KRUS) for maintenance and development of the Workflow system. E-health services will be launched on the basis of Asseco’s comprehensive software solution for hospitals – Asseco Medical Management Solutions. Implementation of the AMMS system will enable the hospitals to not only launch e-health services, but also to prepare for the introduction of Electronic Medical Records. The hospital system will be also linked with diagnostic laboratories.“Doctors will get an easy insight into testing results from any place in the hospital, because after downloading our mHOSP application they will be able to use the AMMS system on mobile devices,” saysJan Butkiewicz, Vice Director at the Healthcare Division, Asseco Poland. Thanks to the system’s mobility, the results of medical consultations and recommendations will be available from anywhere in the hospital. The system will also facilitate the issuance of referrals for specialist care, because most of the required information is already contained in the database. Doctors, using a touch screen, will determine the subsequent examination and this information – along with the patient details – will appear on the monitor at the right doctor’s office or treatment room.AMMS is an integrated component-based IT solution operated through a web browser. It supports all medical and administrative processes, providing patients with convenient remote contact with the hospital, and enabling the hospital managers to monitor the treatment costs. As far as the nursing staff work is concerned, the system will facilitate planning for and maintaining records of drug administrations, assigning treatment rooms, entering information from the measurement of vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, etc.), planning for patient care activities. The application has been developed to comply with the new requirements for Electronic Medical Records. All documents concerning medications and treatment, discharge from the hospital, statistical descriptions, medical tests, certificates, prescriptions, post-disease analyses or recommendations are issued using the patient’s data that have been collected during their stay in the hospital and entered into the various modules of AMMS. This makes it possible to prepare such documents within just a couple of minutes.
