Teleinfo 500 has been prepared under the auspices of the Polish Ministry of Economy. This was the 17th annual edition of the report which presents the leaders of the Polish ICT market.

The award was granted on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of collaboration between both the companies. Back in 2003, Lotos Group signed an agreement with Asseco to implement the SAP Integrated Information System. A year later, the ERP software was already implemented and running. Over the years, this system was also implemented in other companies incorporated within Lotos Group and extended to support additional business processes. Further implementations included the solutions designed to support the supply chain management (Portal SCM), electronic management of orders and billing, property management (Portal PM), customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise risk management (ERM), environmental protection and hazardous materials tracking (SDS). As part of these projects, Asseco provided a multitude of training courses for the Client’s employees, including 44 trainings for implementation teams and 140 trainings for 500 users of the system.
Last year, a new Human Resources system (based on SAP HCM software) was launched along with a comprehensive employee self-service desktop. Today, almost every employee at Lotos Group uses some software implemented by Asseco.

Under the contract, the Provincial Specialist Hospital No. 4 in Bytom will be equipped with new computer hardware. The hospital will be provided with wireless Internet access for its patients. However, the key element of the project will be to implement AMMS (Asseco Medical Management Solutions), an integrated system allowing for comprehensive management of a medical facility. The hospital will also acquire the ResQmed’s digital imaging software for radiology.
“We are planning to implement 19 functional modules of AMMS at the Provincial Hospital in Bytom. They will support various areas of hospital operations, including patient admissions and discharges, pharmacy and ward medicine dispensaries, outpatient clinic and diagnostic laboratories, just to mention a few. Computerization of these activities will enable the creation of electronic medical records in compliance with the new regulations which will come into force in the middle of 2017. The system will automatically retrieve patient data and enable the generation of appropriate documentation, e.g. information sheets, certificates or prescriptions,” said Dagmara Krzywicka, Sales Manager at Asseco Poland.
A significant advantage of this solution is the ability to fully integrate the AMMS system modules that are used in the hospital’s medical and administrative departments. In addition, the included Business Intelligence tool will allow for generation of relevant reports and statements in order to facilitate the monitoring of settlements with the National Healthcare Fund and support the implementation of the hospital’s budget through effective cost control.
Moreover, Asseco will provide the hospital employees with an e-learning platform to teach them, in a modern and convenient way, how to operate the individual IT modules supplied as part of the project.
Asseco Poland is a leading provider of information systems for the healthcare sector. Asseco Group has been already joined by ZETO Bydgoszcz and ZETO Łódź, and the acquisition of Unizeto Technologies by Asseco Systems, a subsidiary of Asseco Poland, would be the next step in building our nation-wide system integration company, which is based on the resources of former regional ZETO firms.
On 8 December 2014, the Management Board of Asseco Poland signed a letter of intent with four major shareholders in Unizeto Technologies who hold 50.92% of the company’s shares, and is planning to reach agreement with other shareholders as well. The value of shares representing 100% of the share capital of Unizeto has been estimated at PLN 22.4 million.
The transaction shall be carried out upon the fulfilment of several conditions, including the agreement of the company’s shareholders to sell over 75% of their shares, obtaining consent to such acquisition from the President of the Competition and Consumer Protection Office, and the results of the conducted due diligence process. If the transaction comes into effect, it could be finalized in the first quarter of 2015.

The main element of the project executed by Asseco Poland for the Provincial Hospital in Bielsko-Biała was to implement AMMS (Asseco Medical Management Solutions). It is a comprehensive solution which comprises dozens of modules, providing specialized functionalities to support daily operations such as the admissions office, hospital wards, patient movement, pharmacy, diagnostic rooms, outpatient clinic, and laboratories. Thanks to that information about patients can now be shared in electronic form; whereas, the register of medical services will be a source of data for Electronic Medical Records. Moreover, the system supports the hospital’s medical and administration staff in providing healthcare services as well as in planning and controlling individual wards, including automatic measurement of their productivity. Another important part of the project was to launch the Business Intelligence analytical module that enables effective management of the hospital. In addition, the AMMS system has been integrated to cooperate with the hospital’s legacy software used in administration and radiology.
“Successful completion of this project is the result of very effective cooperation between the team of the Provincial Hospital in Bielsko-Biała and our specialists,” said Krzysztof de Lorm, Commercial Director at the Healthcare Systems Division of Asseco Poland S.A. “Huge commitment on the part of the hospital’s management and IT personnel ensured ideal working conditions for Asseco experts. They have launched a modern system, which fully satisfies the new legal requirements for electronic medical records, as well as improves the patient care processes,” he added.
The implementation work was preceded by an analysis of the hospital’s information technology infrastructure. Hence, the facility has been provided with equipment necessary to run the new software solution, including 12 servers and 300 workstations.
Following the implementation of AMMS, the hospital’s employees had an opportunity to train through e learning. More than 1000 users have been trained online how to operate the new system.
The project was co-financed from EU funds under the Regional Operational Programme of Silesia for the years 2007-2013, Priority: Information Society, Measure: Development of Electronic Public Services. The Provincial Hospital in Bielsko-Biała is one of the major medical facilities in Silesia. It has 18 hospital wards and 24 specialist clinics. Furthermore, the facility boasts a state-of-the-art surgical block consisting of 6 operating rooms with top-class equipment, as well as a dialysis station with 18 dialysis stands.
