Asseco Poland will perform the migration of spaceship simulators used by ESA into a new platform based on RAP (Remote Application Platform) technology. This solution will make it possible to access the simulators using a web browser. The project will also examine the capabilities and performance of the platform and it will identify potential problems associated with remote access to the system. The project is expected to be completed in December 2015. Access to the spaceship simulators will enable checking the operation of satellites before they are sent into the orbit, making it possible to avoid potential errors which might result in the loss of such equipment. Moreover, having the ability to use the simulators via a web browser, in the future the Agency will be able to offer access to its simulations as a service provided “in the cloud”.“Our cooperation with ESA opens a great opportunity for the development of innovative solutions for the space sector,” said Paweł Seliga, Projects Manager at the Public Administration Department of Asseco Poland. “By engaging in the implementation of successive projects, we build up pioneer competence and gain valuable experience that we want to use in this rapidly growing market,” he added.
