We had reacted to the pandemic slightly earlier than it was officially announced. We started getting signals that the situation could be difficult and a week earlier we appointed a crisis team. We were very lucky, because it helped us to deal better with the new situation and quickly switch to remote working - said Adam Góral, President of Asseco Poland. As far as salaries are concerned, we, as the management board, have resigned from paying out advance payments for bonuses. However, we are not planning cuts in the whole group. We are paying out salaries according to earlier arrangements. We know that people are in different situations and we take this into account - he added.
While working on the ranking, the editorial team contacted over a hundred of the largest companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and analyzed, among others, whether group layoffs have taken place or were planned, or whether a reduction in salaries was being taken into account. The editors also checked what actions companies were taking in the fight against the pandemic.

"Taking into account the importance of the efficient operation of a cooperative bank in a local environment and in order to support bank employees who are ready to provide service to customers at this difficult time, often putting their own health at risk, we have decided to provide cooperative banks with a solution which will allow bank customers to deal with many issues that have so far required a personal visit to a bank in a simple and intuitive way. We will expand their catalog so that customer service can move to the digital world as much as possible. We are convinced that this will make it easier for banks and their customers to operate in the present situation, which is difficult for all of us - said Andrzej Nowakowski, Cooperative Banks Division Director at Asseco Poland.

Asseco Poland has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Justice for the development of an IT system supporting the National Debt Register, which will streamline restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings. Easier access to information and better communication between the authorities involved in the proceedings will make it easier for indebted enterprises to carry out restructuring and continue business operations.
The project includes the production, maintenance and development of the National Debt Register System. Its main objective is to help entrepreneurs in a difficult economic situation. The more efficient handling of administrative processes will help them implement measures to avoid liquidation of a company. The vast majority of the elements of restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings will be carried out electronically, based on digital forms of documents signed electronically. All participants in the proceedings will be able to remotely access information and documents related to the course of the process and to perform activities resulting from it. The automation of the process will not only speed up its course, but will also give the possibility to publish obligatory notices and announcements on a dedicated website, which will significantly reduce costs and increase the transparency of proceedings.
The solution will be embedded in the ICT system of the Ministry of Justice.
The production of the IT system for the National Debt Register is another important project executed by Asseco for the Ministry of Justice. An efficient restructuring process will be crucial for many companies which, due to the current unprecedented situation, will find themselves in crisis," said Sławomir Szmytkowski, Vice President of the Management Board of Asseco Poland.
The IT system of the National Debt Register will be implemented by November 2020. The value of the contract, including a 3-year maintenance service period, amounts to PLN 25.2 million.
