Asseco International operates in 41 countries and Formula Systems on 22 foreign markets. In 2019 the Asseco Group's revenues exceeded PLN 10 billion for the first time ever, 89% of which was generated by international operations.
Geographic diversification is one of the pillars of Asseco's development strategy. We are present on 5 continents in 58 countries, where we employ nearly 27,000 people. We are developing organically and through acquisitions – since 2004 we have carried out almost 90 of them. We can see that our strategy brings measurable effects and allows us to build the strength of Asseco on the international arena - says Marek Panek, Vice President of the Management Board of Asseco Poland.

For the assessment of the financial and business situation of Asseco, basic figures published on a non-IFRS basis are essential information. They are complementary to the figures reported in accordance with the IFRS* standard. In the first half of this year, the non-IFRS operating profit amounted to PLN 675 million and was 20% higher, while the non-IFRS net profit amounted to PLN 201 million, after an increase of 12%.
Thanks to a consistently implemented development strategy, the Group improved its results in all business segments. In the Formula Systems segment sales increased during the first 6 months of 2020 by 19% to PLN 3.6 billion and operating profit by 34% to PLN 287 million. Sales in the Asseco International segment increased by 12% to PLN 1.5 billion and operating profit increased by 14% to PLN 173 million. In the Asseco Poland segment revenues amounted to PLN 639 million, which is 6% more than in the corresponding period in the previous year, while operating profit was 8% higher and reached PLN 95 million. Foreign markets represented by the Formula Systems and Asseco International Segments jointly accounted for 89% of the Group's total revenues.
Asseco's revenues are very well diversified by sectors. In the first half of 2020, the revenues were distributed as follows: general business - 39%, banking and finance - 37% and public institutions - 24%.
In the second quarter of 2020 alone, the Group recorded PLN 2.9 billion of sales revenues, marking an increase of 12%. Operating profit went up by 33% to PLN 303 million, and net profit attributable to the shareholders of the parent company amounted to PLN 95 million, i.e. 19% more than in the second quarter of 2019.
Our strategy, based on strong geographical, sector and product diversification of business, brings measurable results and allows us to maintain very good financial results even in such a difficult period as the ongoing pandemic worldwide. We are currently implementing our contractual obligations in a new business model. We are observing an increase in demand for digital products and services, enabling remote functioning and customer service. At the same time, despite the fact that we see a certain caution on the market in undertaking new investment projects, our backlog is growing at a double-digit rate in all operating segments - at the Group level it is 13% higher than the order book presented in August 2019 and currently amounts to PLN 10.3 billion, said Rafał Kozłowski, Vice-President of the Management Board of Asseco Poland.
* The non-IFRS figures include adjustments for the cost of amortization of intangible assets recognized under the combination settlement (PPA), the costs of share-based payment transactions with employees (SBP), the costs and financial revenues resulting from the transactions of purchase and sales of companies (M&A) and tax effects associated with them.

The Asseco Convergent Services Environment platform is Asseco’s proprietary BSS (Business Support Systems) solution developed to support telecommunications operators as well as Internet and TV providers in sales, service and billing of services. They can use it as a multi-channel package of systems supporting day-to-day processes. It also enables the combination of many different products into one consistent offer, settled under one invoice. It can support the processes of sales, service and settlement of convergent services. Making Asseco CSE available in the cloud, as a service, is an innovation on the Polish market. For customers, it means the optimization of costs related to software implementation, as well as operating and maintenance fees in proportion to the size of their business.
said Radosław Semkło, Director of the Telecommunications and Media Division at Asseco Poland.
The Asseco CSE platform installed in the public clouds of the largest providers on the cloud computing market is an offer addressed to small and mid-sized operators and telecommunications enterprises as well as media companies. Instead of a traditional approach, the new business model assumes the provision of BSS (CRM, Product Catalogue, Billing) as a service in the Software as a Service (SaaS) model directly from the public cloud. From the contracting party's point of view, this is a major change, since it primarily reduces the initial investment costs associated with IT infrastructure and its maintenance. In turn, the model proposed to larger operators is to provide the system Asseco CSE in the private cloud.
said Sebastian Pietrzak, Director responsible for IBM & RedHat business development at IBM Poland and Baltics.
Asseco CSE is an extremely important system for many telecommunications operators and electronic service providers. We are very pleased that this solution can now benefit from all the advantages of the Google Cloud Platform, so that companies can build a consistent and flexible offer for their customers much easier and faster. Building its solution based on Google Cloud, Asseco has provided the system with even greater scalability, stability and security, said Bartłomiej Danek, Google Cloud Sales Manager, Google Poland.

Access to current and historic medical records is an important factor affecting the effectiveness of treatment. Storing paper versions of data is associated with the risk of their loss or destruction. In the case of chronic diseases such as diabetes, for example, a daily logbook of measured data is required, which is often complicated and time consuming. In order to improve the comfort of patients, Asseco has developed a solution that will make it easier for chronically ill people to continuously monitor life parameters, including glucose levels, and collect them in one place. Additionally, the collected data can be transferred via the “Informacje Medyczne” mobile application to the attending physician, which improves the course of treatment.
The "Moje Pomiary" application can be used in two different ways. The patient can manually record various health indicators, e.g. current blood pressure, temperature and body weight. In the case of diabetics using Glucomaxx Connect, the data are automatically transferred to the application without having to enter them manually.
We want the solutions we create to facilitate the functioning of both medical facilities and their patients. The "Moje Pomiary" application was created especially for people who often provide information about their health to doctors. Thanks to this, they can be quickly attached to their records stored in the electronic system of the medical unit. No scanning or transcription is necessary. Thus, the application also improves the work of doctors, who thus have more time for the patient during their check-up visit - said Krzysztof Groyecki, Vice-President of the Management Board, Asseco Poland.
Asseco's solution allows for individual configuration of standards for the entered results, creation of a customized measurement log as well as graphs presenting historical data. The "Moje Pomiary" application is available for users of mobile devices with Android and iOS operating systems. It belongs to the family of Asseco Mobile Patient Apps (AMPA), which has been developed to support patients in their treatment process. AMPA includes both stand-alone applications and those that support cooperation with Asseco's solutions operating in medical care facilities across the country.

Asseco Customer Intelligence is an analytical system which, on the basis of data collected in systems and observation of the client's activities in electronic channels, identifies the client's expectations and recommends the best offer, using Machine Learning algorithms. The solution is dedicated to financial institutions such as banks, as well as lending, leasing or factoring companies.
Nearly 70% of customers say that banks do not react to changes in their financial situation. Currently, clients expect a better fit of offered products," said Marta Mróz-Sipiora, Product Manager, Asseco Poland. In order for financial institutions to build a positive customer experience and maximize the probability of purchase, they need a thorough analysis of the clients’ behavior and preferences. Such opportunities are provided by ACI, which, using artificial intelligence mechanisms, "learns about" the client and their expectations and current needs. Owing to this, the financial institution can offer a profiled offer in real time, which encourages a quick purchasing decision, she added.
The aim of "The Innovators 2020" competition is to recognize the most innovative institutions and providers of services and solutions that set new trends for the financial sector.
Asseco has once again been awarded by Global Finance. In the previous contests, the following solutions won a recognition: Asseco Enterprise Banking Platform - Digi Trade (Asseco EBP - Digi Trade) and Asseco Advisory Banking Platform (Asseco ABP).
The magazine is published in 187 countries. Its readers are mainly people who make strategic decisions in international companies and financial institutions.
