
The ranking winners have been selected by local authorities of individual provinces. They voted to choose the companies which, in their opinion, are important regional employers and tax payers and contribute to the wellbeing of local communities. The prize-winners were announced during a gala ceremony held on 15 April. Asseco’s award was collected by Ewa Kryj, the company’s spokesperson.“In recent years, the Subcarpathian Province has seen much economic development and strengthened its position. This has been accomplished largely on the back of EU support, without which such dynamic changes would not be possible, as well as thanks to the initiatives undertaken by local authorities, scientific and business organizations, and inhabitants of the region. However, achieving success is a long-term process, which entails a number of challenges,” commented Adam Góral, CEO of Asseco Poland. “In the next few years, one of such challenges will be to develop a knowledge-based economy. It will help turn Subcarpathia into an attractive place for both entrepreneurs as well as young and ambitious people. In this case, business community will play a key role,” he added.

Asseco has supplied and launched its Asseco Medical Management Solutions (AMMS) software at the Municipal Hospital in Zabrze. The healthcare facility is now able to use the Electronic Medical Records, improving the quality of services for patients as well as facilitating the performance of daily tasks by the hospital personnel. “Within this project, we have deployed a number of software modules to enhance the work of the hospital’s outpatient clinic, surgical block, diagnostic laboratories as well as pharmacy,” said Mariusz Salamaga, Project Manager at the Healthcare Systems Division of Asseco Poland. “The medical facility can also use the Management Information System (Business Intelligence-class module) allowing for effective management of its operations,” he added.The company was also responsible for the construction of modern IT infrastructure. It has built a server room featuring a highly advanced system of security access, air conditioning and fire protection. Furthermore, the company delivered computer hardware, including clinical tablets, optical readers and computers with ready installed software.“Being equipped with mobile devices, the hospital employees are able to prescribe medical procedures and access any test results directly at the patient’s bed. This is a great convenience for doctors, because the hospital has approx. 450 beds located at 9 wards,” said Mariusz Salamaga.
Asseco has extensive experience in this type of projects. The company has already implemented its AMMS software for nearly 90 healthcare centers in Silesia. Earlier this year, the company successfully completed an implementation project at the State Hospital for the Mentally Ill in Rybnik. It has also signed contracts to provide IT systems for the Specialist Hospital in Zabrze as well as for Dr Emil Cyran Province Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Lubliniec.

AMMS is a comprehensive IT solution dedicated to large and medium-sized hospitals, polyclinics, medical centers, outpatient clinics and emergency departments. The solution provides support for the hospital’s medical departments (HIS) and administrative departments (ERP). AMMS features a number of functionalities for the identification of patients, including registration of referrals with the help two-dimensional barcodes, as well as retrieval of patient data from identity documents. It also enables printing and reading of doctor referrals in the encoded form. Transmission of such documents in electronic format between different medical centers reduces the time of patient registration and admission, while eliminating errors that might occur due to incorrect reading of handwriting.

Asseco Poland ranked second in the category of “Investor Relations” among all the companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. It is an advancement by 7 places compared to the previous year. This edition has been judged by votes from 130 capital market specialists. It is worth mentioning that a few days earlier Asseco was recognized as the Listed Company of the Year 2014 by the editors of Gazeta Parkiet stock market daily.

Parkiet, Poland’s most-read stock market daily, awarded the best companies, institutions and managers already for the 21st time. The winners were honoured with the “Bull and Bear” statuettes during the gala ceremony, which took place at the headquarters of the Warsaw Stock Exchange on 19 March 2015.
Asseco has been recognized for providing the highest annual returns to its shareholders among all of the WIG20 index participants (nearly 18 percent, including dividends) as well as for a significant improvement in its financial results, achieved primarily due to the company’s international expansion. Asseco Group closed the year 2014 with record-high revenues and improved its key financial indicators. The Group’s sales increased by over PLN 450 million or 8% year on year, to the level of PLN 6.2 billion, the highest in its history. The scale of this success is emphasized by the fact that the last year was not so favourable for investors as the WIG, Warsaw’s broad market index, gained a modest 0.3 percent.

The “Gate to the Lublin Region – e-Government” provided the Lublin Province administration with an electronic platform for citizen services. In addition, nearly 700 local government bodies, including schools, libraries and Municipal Social Welfare Centres, have been connected into one electronic document circulation system, which enables efficient exchange of information. The solution has also been integrated with e-PUAP, the nationwide Electronic Platform of Public Administration Services. Moreover, the existing IT infrastructure has been modernized and extended.„Asseco is one of the largest vendors of IT solutions for the public administration sector,” said Piotr Siarkiewicz, Commercial Director at the IT Infrastructure Division of Asseco Poland. “Thanks to our vast experience in the deployment of large IT systems, we were able to complete this e-Government project on a timely and cost efficient basis. The work, which took two years, was performed by 10 highly skilled professionals of Asseco, all with many years of hands-on experience,” he continued.Informatization has a positive influence on the image of administration offices, which become more citizen friendly. It improves the efficiency of services rendered to the region’s inhabitants, who are given the opportunity to handle official matters and make payments over the Internet. This helps save a lot of time as well. In addition, people are able to check the status of their matters at any place and time. “Successful implementation of this project would not be possible without the huge commitment of all the involved parties,” said Wojciech Romanek, Project Manager at the Marshal’s Office of Lublin Province. “Today, we can confidently say that the Lublin Region has modern administration offices, which are easily accessible to the public,” he added.It should be also emphasized that e-Government helps reduce the costs associated with the provision of services by public administration bodies, and increases the attractiveness of the region for investors.
