Asseco has won in the "Supplier of Solutions for the Energy Sector" category of the "Energy World Leaders" competition.

Asseco has won in the "Supplier of Solutions for the Energy Sector" category of the "Energy World Leaders" competition. The award was presented at a gala held after the EuroPOWER & RES POWER Energy Conference. In addition, the winner in the "Energy Innovation of the Year" category was the Data Migration Tool for the Central Energy Market Information System (CSIRE), which Asseco prepared and launched for Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE).

Asseco is the leader of digitization in Poland* and one of the leading producers of IT solutions for the domestic energy sector. The company's flagship solution is Asseco Utility Management Solutions (AUMS), a set of integrated products providing comprehensive support for the energy sector's business areas from transmission and distribution to product and service sales.

More than 60% of electricity consumers in Poland are served by AUMS systems. In 2023, in cooperation with PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny, we completed one of the largest implementations of a billing system for the energy sector in Central and Eastern Europe. In turn, at the Tauron Group, we performed the largest single data migration in the Polish energy sector," said Tomasz Bendlewski, Director of the Energy and Gas Division, Asseco Poland. Asseco is also part of an unprecedented project underway in the Polish energy sector. Using cloud solutions, we have prepared and launched the Data Migration Tool for CSIRE, which supports Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) in its statutory obligation to prepare and structure data to feed this system, he added.

The construction of the CSIRE system requires the migration of data from about 300 energy market participants – the migration participants. The challenge is both the amount of data transferred to the system and the need to standardize the way it is collected and processed by the many entities operating in the Polish market. Asseco has developed specialized software using the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud. Technologies were implemented that ensure very high processing efficiency (which is crucial for such a large project), as well as the scalability and flexibility of the solution - efficiently handling large amounts of data and saving resources at times when business needs are minimal. The migration participants can provide data online, 24 hours a day, via a web application. They are then processed in an established batch mode and transferred to CSIRE. The solution enables PSE to carry out preparatory and testing activities and will allow it to feed CSIRE with data before its launch. The migration participants can import data on their consumption points, check the results of quality control of this data, verify statistics and report service issues. For this solution, prepared and implemented by Asseco's Electricity and Gas Division, PSE S.A. received the "Innovation of the Year in Energy" award.

The “Energy World Leaders” competition is an event that aims to reward and promote individuals who are making exceptional contributions to transforming the energy landscape. It honors individuals and organizations that are pioneers in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, digitization and technological innovation in the energy sector.

Asseco was included in the "Poland's Best Employers" ranking prepared by the Forbes magazine in cooperation with the research and analysis company Statista. The purpose of the list was to identify the best employers who flexibly adapted to changes in the labor market caused by, among other things, a pandemic, the crisis caused by the war in Ukraine or the large impact of artificial intelligence.

Our team is made up of talented and dedicated people who are united by a common vision and partnership, said Gabriela Żukowicz, Vice President of the Management Board of Asseco Poland, Chief ESG Officer. Very important for our business is the development of the team and the constant expansion of its competence. We provide our employees with numerous benefits and opportunities for further development, including by organizing or financing training and courses, she added.

The "Poland's Best Employers" ranking was based on the results of questionnaires completed by employees of companies employing more than 250 people. The survey was anonymous, and employees could rate their employer and other companies in the sector in which they work. They evaluated companies in more than 40 aspects, the most important of which were: remuneration; image; employee relations; company management; working conditions and equipment; development opportunities and promotion prospects; workload; and sustainability.

The charity initiatives "We help" and "School Starter Kit" were included in the report "Responsible business in Poland. Good Practices". This is the 22nd edition of this compilation, which is prepared annually by the Responsible Business Forum (FOB).

The aim of Asseco's annual employee charity campaign "We help" is to support those most in need and to motivate employees to get involved. Employees nominate selected organizations for financial support, such as orphanages or single mother's homes, hospices or foundations supporting poor families. In this year's edition, Asseco helped 25 organizations. In turn, since the beginning of this project, it has allocated PLN 1.74 million to help those in need, thanks to which, among others, 5,000 children have received support. So far, 2,000 employees have been involved in the "We help" campaign.

In addition, in July-August 2023. Asseco conducted the "School Starter Kit" campaign. The company partnered with the Stanisława Bieńczak Children's Aid Foundation in Brzozów, Podkarpackie Voivodeship, and donated full school starter kits, consisting of school supplies and materials needed for school and backpacks, to the organization's pupils. As part of the campaign, Asseco employees and associates financed school supplies, breakfast bags and sports bags from their own resources, while the company purchased backpacks for the children. In total, the Asseco team prepared 35 starter kits for more than PLN 7,000, and the company added backpacks for about PLN 5,000.

The report "Responsible Business in Poland. Good Practices" is a periodic publication of the Responsible Business Forum, which is a compilation of companies' ESG and sustainability activities from a given year. It provides the largest overview of corporate responsibility and ESG initiatives in Poland. Submission and publication of good practices are free of charge.

Individual investors recognized Asseco as the best communicating company with the market in a survey of investor relations of companies in the WIG30 index. The list was prepared by the Parkiet daily. Asseco scored 4.4 points in it, which the editors stressed was an impressive result. The company also received high marks from institutional investors and analysts. Overall, Asseco scored the most points in the entire survey.

Good IR is about dialogue, seeking feedback. Talking to investors is key, which allows us to profile communications accordingly. This allows us to know in which direction we should conduct our activities. We try to participate in numerous events, which give us an invaluable opportunity to interact with individual and professional investors. Any investor can attend our result conferences, including online. We have a presence and ongoing communication in social media. We strongly believe that proactive actions and feedback are the key to having valuable relationships with investors, said Joanna Paczkowska-Tatomir, Head of Investor Relations (IR), Asseco Poland.

Asseco is committed to continuous and open communication with market representatives. The IR team is an "information center" for both institutional and individual investors. Given the scale of the Asseco Group's operations, it is extremely important for this unit to cooperate with other departments and companies in the capital group and to be able to communicate information in a way that is understandable and satisfactory to the market.
Asseco was rated very highly by all investors in the Parkiet survey. Both in the section aimed at individual investors and financial institutions, it scored above the average rating, with significantly higher marks from individual investors than the companies ranked next.

People working in IR teams combine soft and hard skills. They should be fluent in the world of numbers, and at the same time have the competence to build relationships with the world of investors, equally institutional and individual, concluded Joanna Paczkowska-Tatomir.
A very successful year for Asseco. Organic growth and good prospects for the coming quarters.

In 2023, the Asseco Group reached PLN 16.9 billion in revenues (EUR 3.7 billion). The sales of its proprietary IT products and related services exceeded PLN 13.2 billion (EUR 2.9 billion). Operating profit amounted to more than PLN 1.6 billion (EUR 359 million).

Net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company reached PLN 483 million (EUR 107 million), the second highest net profit in the Group's history.

Asseco's results are very well diversified geographically. In 2023, foreign markets represented by the Formula Systems and Asseco International segments together accounted for 88% of the Group’s total revenues. The sales of the Formula Systems segment amounted to PLN 10.9 billion (EUR 2.4 billion), with operating profit of PLN 906 million (EUR 200 million). In the Asseco International segment, revenues amounted to PLN 4.1 billion (EUR 896 million), and operating profit – after a 12% increase – reached PLN 456 million (EUR 101 million). In turn, the sales of the Asseco Poland segment increased by 13% to nearly PLN 2.0 billion (EUR 434 million), and operating profit amounted to PLN 264 million (EUR 58 million).

"2023 was another very good year for Asseco. Foreign exchange rates had a significant impact on the Group's performance during this period. Organically, we grew steadily – our revenues increased in fixed exchange rates by 5%, and operating profit went up by 6%. We achieved the second highest net profit in our more than 30-year history. We continue to consistently implement the chosen strategy, focusing on software production and proprietary services, as well as strong diversification. I am pleased that we have been able to produce such good results despite the difficult economic environment and the tense geopolitical situation. This shows that uncertain times call for an increased role for digitization, with a particular focus on cloud solutions, cyber security or artificial intelligence. Our priority remains to provide the highest quality proprietary software to institutions and companies in key economic sectors. In the past year, we worked hard to strengthen our market position in each of the business segments in which we operate. In 2023, we acquired 7 companies operating in Portugal, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Poland, as well as the Israeli market. Since our IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in 2004, more than 135 companies have joined our Group. As a result, currently Asseco employs over 33,000 people in 60 countries on 6 continents," said Adam Góral, President of the Management Board of Asseco Poland.

Asseco's consolidated order backlog for 2024 in the area of proprietary software and services, is now worth more than PLN 10.2 billion (EUR 2.4 billion). In fixed exchange rates, in which the backlog for 2023 was calculated, it exceeds PLN 11.1 billion (EUR 2.4 billion) and is 14% higher than in the corresponding period last year.

"Since the start of the war in Ukraine, we have been facing an increased risk and number of cyber attacks. That is why it is so important to build the state's cyber resilience at every level of operations – both nationwide and as far as the local government is concerned. As a provider of solutions for a number of public institutions and businesses, we will continue to take an active role in securing IT systems, as well as helping to adapt infrastructure and security procedures to the new realities," added Adam Góral.
"One of our ambitions remains the cloud services market and active participation in this fast-growing area of the IT sector. In addition to our proprietary software and the construction of cloud resources within the framework of Asseco Cloud, we cooperate with the world's largest public cloud providers. Ahead of us is another year in which we will be working on the implementation and development of artificial intelligence applications. The goal is to make advances that we have not yet experienced. We have a huge opportunity to revolutionize many aspects of our lives. In particular, it is worth mentioning health care, public administration, the manufacturing sector or services. Used wisely, artificial intelligence will also contribute to increasing the level of cyber security by accelerating the detection of potential threats," emphasized Adam Góral.

Asseco has been consistently building shareholder value and sharing its profit with shareholders. This year, the company's Management Board recommended to the General Meeting of Shareholders that a dividend of PLN 250 million (EUR 58 million) be paid for 2023, which translates into PLN 3.66 (EUR 0.8) per share participating in the dividend payment*.

* Dividend per share, after excluding own shares that do not participate in the dividend.

Asseco was included in the list of "50 Polish Global Companies" prepared by the editors of the "Wprost" weekly in cooperation with the Council of Polish Global Entrepreneurs. The ranking includes large companies that are strong brands not only in Poland, but also abroad.

Asseco is a leader in digitization in Poland and the largest IT company in the Central and Eastern European region. The company is present in more than 60 countries around the world and employs more than 33,000 people. Asseco companies are listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE), NASDAQ and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

Asseco has consistently pursued a strategy based on the development of its proprietary software and related services, as well as strong geographic, sectoral and product diversification, said Adam Góral, President of the Management Board of Asseco Poland. The international nature of the organization and its federative structure, which leaves a great deal of autonomy and freedom of action to individual companies, allow us to compete effectively on foreign markets while maintaining the local and flexible approach so necessary for our customers, he added.

As the authors of the ranking pointed out, Polish companies with a global reach not only affect the image of our country abroad, but are very important for the economic interest. Moreover, in summarizing the results of the list, they show that the best way to raise the financial status of Poles is for society and public authorities to cooperate with business for the global expansion of the Polish economy.
