The system operates in several cooperative banks, which all use a common integrated solution for association, called SGB24. The Rzeszów-based company developed Asseco CBP based on its many years of experience and taking into account users’ individual preferences and needs, in particular those related to e-banking.

Andrzej Nowakowski, Director of the Cooperative Banks Division at Asseco Poland: It’s an innovative and responsive system. This means that no matter what device a bank customer uses in order to interact with it, they will have the same sort of experience. It allows the bank to contact its customers directly and present an offer that way. This solution is tailored for both retail customers and for the SME sector.

Asseco CBP employs the RWD (Responsive Web Design) technology. This simply means that no matter if you’re on your smartphone, tablet or laptop, you still use the system the same way. Bank customers can themselves decide what they need and what they want to use at a particular time thanks to the special embedded miniapp store. You can find additional information about the project on it.wnp.plhttp://cbp.asseco.com/home

Asseco Poland will be responsible for implementing two projects for the European Space Agency. As part of the first project, new tools used in the EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) system will be designed. Their tasks include analyzing the data required for correct calculation of the necessary adjustments to satellite navigation systems used in international aviation and maritime transport. Asseco Poland will also be responsible for the extension of the scope of data used in the system – it is now to include data from the European satellite navigation system called Galileo, launched in the second half of December 2016.The second project, called SPEED Scenario Manager (S-SM), makes it possible to perform simulations and collect data on the work of satellites – regarding their position or signal strength and its fade-out periods. Asseco Poland will be responsible for the tool cooperating with the EGNOS system, which manages the specific simulation scenarios; and also for improving the overall system performance and ensuring proper operation of tools after the project is completed.

Zdzisław Wiater, Deputy Director of the Public Administration Division at Asseco Poland: Your typical airline passenger isn’t concerned with the systems that ensure he or she gets to their destination safely and on time. The solutions developed by Asseco Poland for ESA are responsible for a smooth trip. We also carry out tasks aimed at improving the efficiency of tools already used by ESA.

The European Space Agency is an intergovernmental agency with responsibilities spanning the implementation of plans of its member states in the area of research and space exploration, as well as learning about the Earth and, more generally, the Solar System. As part of its mission it also provides citizens of Europe and the rest of the world with the benefits from investments in the space sector. Poland officially joined the European Space Agency in November 2012.

Zdzisław Wiater: These projects are simply a continuation of tasks already carried out by Asseco for the European Space Agency. The space sector will, in the near future, become one of the fastest growing in the world. It is therefore very important to work on such projects, in order to gain knowledge and experience required to carry out the more complex tasks that will come later, and thus establish Poland’s presence within the space sector.

This contract is the continuation of a cooperation dating back to 2014. The first set of data analyzers for EGNOS system collection purposes (for GPS and GLONASS), as well as an application generating visualizations of analytical results, were both developed for ESA. Migration of spacecraft simulators to a new platform, based on the RAP (Remote Application Platform) technology, was also executed by Asseco Poland.

Asseco Enterprise Solutions (AES), registered in Slovakia, will ultimately integrate Asseco Group’s resources specialized in the development of proprietary ERP software. The project implementation will be supervised by Jozef Klein, a vastly experienced leader and President of the Management Board of Asseco Central Europe, our Slovak subsidiary. The initiation of AES in Slovakia is also aimed to continue our strategy of building sector and product competences in the regions where Asseco Group operates. AES is going to focus on developing and strengthening the Group’s international position in the segment of ERP solutions.“As forecasted by Gartner research firm , the global ERP software market is expected to grow by over 7% on an annual basis to reach the worth of USD 41.7 billion by 2020. Given the potential of our Group as well as a very favourable outlook for this sector, we decided to establish Asseco Enterprise Solutions,” said Marek Panek, Vice President of Asseco Poland, who is responsible for the international growth of Asseco Group. The newly founded Asseco Enterprise Solutions (AES) holds 46% of shares in Asseco Business Solutions (ABS), a Polish subsidiary of Asseco Poland. In exchange for the contribution of these shares, Asseco Poland acquired 100% of shares in Asseco Enterprise Solutions with a total par value of EUR 6.8 million.“Asseco Enterprise Solutions will be our competence center for ERP solutions. Its first and fundamental pillar has been formed by Asseco Business Solutions, our company that has a successful track record in this business. In the future, we are going to expand Asseco Enterprise Solutions by adding other resources already held by the Group, and we will also look for new companies operating in this sector in various countries. From the perspective of operations conducted by Asseco Business Solutions, there will be no change except for the fact that the new shareholder will focus on the market of ERP solutions, and will try to make better use of synergies occurring within the Group in this sector of the IT market,” Marek Panek added.

Asseco’s cooperation with ASIF is based on the function points model, allowing for the settlement of our actions. The annex increased their amount in terms of modifications and software development. Now, Asseco can continue to adapt it to the current needs of the Fund.Workflow acts as an integrating layer for the most important domain-specific systems used by the Agricultural Social Insurance Fund. These are the systems used for handling farmers’ insurance and benefits, as well as a system for document management and archiving. Automation of business processes and the application of SOA architecture enabled the consolidation and optimization of access to ASIF resources. The solution provides users with an unified graphical interface, and it allows for, among others, a comprehensive and centralized management of user identities, and data exchange with external institutions.

Several of NATO systems run graphical user interfaces based on Silverlight technology. It is going to be phased out over the coming years and will no longer be supported by its manufacturer. Some third party solution providers are already withdrawing their support for products based on Silverlight. Additioanlly, some web browsers (including Chrome, Microsoft Edge) will not run it either. It is a natural phenomenon associated with the life cycle of a certain technology, but it requires preparation and taking into account the current activities of the organization. This is why Asseco developed an IT systems migration strategy for the NCIA (NATO Communications and Information Agency). The strategy is designed to transfer solutions based on Silverlight on to newer, modern technologies based on HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. It describes detailed procedures for migration, technologies, and potential problems that may arise during its implementation.

Zdzisław Wiater, Deputy Director of the Public Administration Division at Asseco Poland: Having a good strategy is essential for systems migration, in particular when you’re acting for a unique and demanding organization like NATO. Procedure is grounded in Asseco’s expertise and experience gained, among others, by carrying out a number of migrations for the EU agency FRONTEX. This project also required Asseco to check and modify the source code used in NATO systems. It is worth noting that we are the only company from Poland doing this type of work.

The company also carried out a successful migration of a NATO application – this, too, was done according to the previously developed strategy. This helped create a system prototype, running on HTML5 and JavaScript.

Tomasz Jaros, systems architect at Asseco involved in the project, said: A working prototype confirmed that the procedures and technologies selected by Asseco were correct. It has been presented in the Hague, during a dedicated internal NATO workshop, alongside the entire strategy.

Asseco is the only Polish company that has a team of experts who, for 15 years already, specialize in software development for the defense industry. It benefits both the Polish armed forces as well as NATO and European Union agencies, such as ESA and FRONTEX.

Jacek Socha, Vice President of the Board of PwC: The export of Polish products and services is growing dynamically, likewise are Polish investments abroad. This success is best reflected by the companies recognized in this year’s edition of the ‘Polish Firm – International Champion’ contest. They’re present on every continent and represent different industries, from the agricultural and food industry, cosmetics, chemical materials, through to the oil industry and the services industry. Innovation is on the up and is certainly one of the elements common to all the winners this year. There are a lot of Polish brands which are recognized and praised abroad – this is fantastic, and we need more of those. In the minds of the consumers Polish products and services have to be a synonym for the highest quality.

The Polish Firm – International Champion contest promotes Polish companies being proactive and engaging in global markets. Companies investing in foreign markets transform themselves in global entities, successfully compete in those markets, and help build the ‘Poland’ brand at the international level.
