Currently, 70% of companies declare that new technologies are the main factor in their development1. This means that innovative solutions begin to play an important role in the business strategy of companies which have to meet the dynamically changing expectations of customers. In 2017 alone, the Asseco Group allocated PLN 548.2 million for R&D investments. As part of its research and development activity, it acquires innovative projects in several ways, among others through the implementation of internal projects, cooperation with startups and use of external funding.

is the largest Polish IT company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) and the sixth-largest producer of software in Europe. It leads international Asseco Group, which operates in 54 countries and employs over 24,000 people. For more than 25 years it has been creating technologically advanced software for companies from key sectors of the economy.
As part of its R&D investment activities, the company will build the Asseco Innovation Hub in Rzeszów, where technologies in the areas of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, telemedicine, electromobility and IoT will be developed. Asseco also runs its own projects with the financial support of the National Research and Development Centre. Among others, it helped the company to develop the Asseco Ground Control Station for crisis management and cyber security purposes.

As the results of the Asseco's report "Corporate Banking today and in the future" show, customers expect increasingly more innovative solutions which will facilitate their daily work and contact with a bank. For 47% of them, innovation is just as important as safety. An example of a solution which is in line with the global trend of seeking innovation is Asseco Enterprise Banking Platform, which we offer to both the SME sector and corporations, said Marta Mróz-Sipiora, Product Manager, Asseco Poland.
The aim of the Report of Gazeta Finansowa was to distinguish companies which, according to the editorial team, meet the expectations of customers by offering them increasingly more advanced products and services.

The system developed by Nextbank is fully adapted to deposit and credit products specific for Southeast Asia and is integrated with both a mobile application for bank advisers, enabling them to execute transactions outside a branch, and with a mobile banking application offered to clients. The solution is made available in the cloud and provides a set of functionalities necessary to run a mid-sized bank. Currently it operates in 5 Philippine cooperative banks.
The Asseco Group has been joined by a very substantive and business-oriented team. Nextbank is still a small company, but it has already carried out implementations in 5 banks in the Philippines and is currently running further implementations. It has a very interesting product - a core-banking system with the possibility of mobile access for bank customers, which is available in the Amazon cloud. It is fully adapted to the needs of local institutions. We are also counting on the possibility of achieving synergy in the area of our product portfolio in the future, as well as on the exchange of know-how between our teams, said Zbigniew Pomianek, Vice President of the Management Board, Asseco Poland.
There are currently over 500 banks in the Philippines, 450 of which are cooperative banks with limited IT investment budgets and limited access to qualified IT staff in the provinces. For the Asseco Group, the new investment means first of all the possibility of conducting business operations in the Philippines, where no implementations have been carried out so far. It is also an impulse to expand the company's product offer.
, said Marek Panek, Vice President of the Management Board, Asseco Poland.
, said Krzysztof Kogutkiewicz, CEO, Nextbank Software.
The transaction value of the acquisition of shares in Nextbank Software is PLN 17 million. There are no plans to merge the Kraków-based company with the Asseco Group.

PUE ZUS is a solution used on a daily basis by employers, insured persons, doctors, as well as beneficiaries. The system includes the ePłatnik (ePayer) application, which is used by payers to handle insurance documents, among others. In turn, employees, through PUE, have the possibility to use electronic handling of some of the applications, as well as to register a visit to any institution or to check whether an employer has registered them for insurance purposes. Finally, thanks to PUE, doctors can issue electronic medical certificates (e-ZLA), among others.
PUE ZUS is a convenient solution that provides contribution payers, the insured and benefit recipients with access to the most important information collected in ZUS in electronic form. But its development potential is much greater. In my opinion, the development of this type of electronic services is a necessity and an important element in the implementation of the e-state strategy. The state administration is increasingly more focused on modern electronic channels for direct contact with citizens, said Arkadiusz Wójcik, Director of the Social Insurance Division at Asseco Poland. I am glad that the Asseco teams are involved in the execution of such important projects, especially as they require a number of advanced competences and improved level of maintenance services. We are currently observing a recovery in the administration sector in terms of new IT projects and we are looking forward to the coming months with optimism. In the area responsible for serving the public sector alone, since the beginning of this year we have increased employment by about 10% and we are still looking for more people to join us, he added.
Last year, Asseco signed a number of important agreements with ZUS, both in terms of the scale of the implemented projects and their importance for the efficient functioning of the state. The Company introduced, among other things, key modifications in the Comprehensive Information System (KSI ZUS), related to the reduction of the retirement age of pensioners and the introduction of the so-called e-Contribution. The Company also signed an agreement to introduce changes to the Social Insurance Institution due to new regulations concerning the storage of employee records. Its value is PLN 24.5 million gross. Asseco also concluded a new framework agreement for the modification of the ZUS Comprehensive IT System (KSI ZUS). The contract worth almost PLN 350 million gross will be executed over a period of 4 years - Asseco, as one of the two suppliers, will apply for individual projects under mini-tenders.
