The founder and chairman of the Asseco Group was recognized in the "50 after 50" poll published by the Forbes magazine. Adam Góral was recognized for his successful business model based on acquisitions, thanks to which Asseco is today a team of more than 30,000 people in 60 countries around the world. In turn, the Group's revenues in 2021 reached a record PLN 14.5 billion.

Built by Adam Góral, the international federation of companies is an alternative to large IT corporations. The group companies are united not only by common business goals, but above all by vision, values and partnerships. They are software companies, producing high-tech solutions. Each of them retains its unique character and freedom of action. As a result, they have offerings tailored to the needs of the market in which they operate and managers with long-standing relationships on the ground. This independence makes them think and act like entrepreneurs rather than employees of a large corporation. On the other hand, they can draw on the potential of the entire Group, carrying out joint international projects as needed, which greatly increases their competitiveness.

The idea of the "50 after 50" plebiscite was to honor entrepreneurs and managers over 50, who, possessing extremely valuable capital such as knowledge and experience, made courageous business decisions. The competition's chapter included representatives of investment funds, companies that advise entrepreneurs and editors of the Forbes magazine.

Wspólna Platforma Informatyczna (Common IT Platform – WPI) has been included in the "Best Software for Financial Institutions" list prepared by the editors of Gazeta Finansowa. The platform developed by Asseco is a comprehensive IT solution offered in the SaaS model, which can be used by many cooperative banks. It is the first such product on the Polish market.

For a cooperative bank, WPI means elimination of investment and predictability of costs. The platform is available in a cloud model, which reduces the costs associated with having separate infrastructure and resources to maintain them. Asseco takes over responsibility for hardware infrastructure, server room maintenance, software licenses and updates, as well as activities such as day/month/year closures. Within a single subscription fee, cooperative banks receive everything necessary for the day-to-day operation and development of a modern financial institution. New bank offerings can therefore be implemented faster, and common accounting, sales, or management information processes reduce costs and do not limit the banks' autonomy in terms of trading parameters, interest rates, or fees and commissions charged, among other things.

Asseco ranked first in three key categories of the ITwiz Best100 report. It became the largest IT company with Polish capital selling its proprietary products and services in 2021, the largest exporter of IT products and services, and the largest provider of cloud computing services.

In 2021, Asseco reached PLN 14.5 billion in revenues, which marked an increase by 19 percent versus the previous year. This was possible thanks to a consistently implemented strategy of business diversification, as well as intensive digitization in the economy. During this period, the Group’s companies implemented complex IT projects in virtually all areas of the economy, including banking, energy, telecommunications, trade, as well as public and local government administration and health care. In 2021, Asseco established Asseco Cloud to support customers in designing, implementing and operating cloud solutions. Obtaining the title of the largest exporter was possible thanks to a consistently pursued strategy of international development. The Asseco Group is present in 60 countries around the world, on six continents. The Group comprises 327 companies, including 297 foreign entities. Since 2004 Asseco has made 120 acquisitions of companies in various parts of the world, and in the first quarter of this year three more entities joined the Group.

When we went public a dozen years ago, our goal was to build a strong position in the Central and Eastern European market, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, the Balkans, Germany - and we accomplished that. Add to that Israel and the great importance of Formula Systems not only in that market. I also think about the sector and product dimension all the time. We remain in a federation model, but I am particularly keen on integrating teams responsible for specific areas, says Adam Góral, President of the Management Board of Asseco Poland.

The CEO of Asseco was included in the list of "The most effective CEOs of WIG20 index companies in 2021," prepared by the editors of ICAN Management Review Poland. The purpose of the ranking was to identify the leaders of companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange who have most effectively led their companies through the period of pandemic and lockdowns.

2021 was another very good year for Asseco. In the face of the coronavirus pandemic, the Asseco team demonstrated great commitment, flexibility, responsiveness to customer needs and adaptation to rapidly changing market requirements. We consistently pursued a strategy of geographic, sectoral and product diversification of business. We focused on selling our proprietary software, providing related services, as well as increasing the scale of our business through acquisitions, said Adam Góral, President of the Management Board of Asseco Poland.

The ranking of the most successful CEOs of companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange was compiled by the editors of "ICAN Management Review Poland," who evaluated the companies based on three criteria: total shareholder return, change in the nominal value of capitalization and financial ratios.

Asseco has signed an agreement with the Polish Power Grid (PSE) to execute data migration to the Central Energy Market Information System (CSIRE). The aim of the cooperation is to prepare the data necessary to launch CSIRE. As part of the project, Asseco will develop specialized software using cloud solutions. This will allow for much better scalability of data processing, which is crucial for such a large project.

The development of the CSIRE system requires the migration of data from about 300 energy market participants. This is an unprecedented event in the Polish energy industry. The challenge will be both the amount of data transferred to the system and the need to standardize the way it is collected and processed by many entities operating in the Polish market.

The energy industry is one of the key sectors for Asseco, with which we have been working effectively for many years. Our IT solutions support the billing of 60 percent of electricity consumers in Poland. Our cooperation with PSE and the implementation of the data migration project is a great opportunity for us to participate in a very important stage of the transformation of the Polish energy market, one of the milestones of which is the development of CSIRE, says Tomasz Bendlewski, Director of the Energy and Gas Division of Asseco Poland.

CSIRE is scheduled to start operating in July 2024. One of the tasks, under the contract between PSE and Asseco, will be to organize data into a uniform format, which will ensure standardization and full automation of processes in the retail electricity market, including, among others, switching vendors. The scope of the contract includes the preparation of a data migration tool and its successive migration to prepare the initial data set for the launch of CSIRE. This process will prepare the source data, locate loopholes and irregularities, complete or correct them, and identify possible inconsistencies in the data of energy sellers and power system operators.

The Central Energy Market Information System (CSIRE) will collect and process energy market information necessary for the implementation of energy market processes specified in the law - including the process of changing electricity sellers and making settlements for the supply and sale of electricity. The most important tasks of CSIRE are to ensure effective and secure exchange of information in the electricity market, which will allow its participants to realize their statutory rights and obligations. CSIRE will unify and streamline market processes and the flow of information among market participants. It will enable end users to access their own energy market information (including metering data) free of charge, as well as improve competitiveness in the sector. It will also provide free access to selected statistical data resulting from energy market processes, as well as to data enabling market participants to offer new products and services. Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne, designated in the Energy Law as the Energy Market Information Operator (OIRE), is responsible for implementing CSIRE. You can learn more about OIRE and CSIRE at www.pse.pl/oire.
